Angel Food Cake
  • Cooking Time: 30
  • 2 cups egg whites (12 eggs)
  • 1 1/2 t cream of tartar
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 t almond extract
  • 1 cup + 2 T cake flour, sifted 5 times with 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 c sugar
  1. Beat eggs until foaming. Add cream of tartar, salt, vanilla and almond extract and beat until peaks form but not dry. Add sugar slowly (turning mixer down). Remove beaters and fold in flour with wire whip. Put into angel food cake pan and bake at 375F for 30 minutes. Let cool and frost or serve with strawberries and whipped cream.
