Anise Pound Cake

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 tablespoons anise seeds, ground
  • 5 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees F.
  2. Grease and flour 10-inch tube or bundt pan.
  3. (I use the wrappers from the butter to grease pan)
  4. In a small bowl sift together flour and salt and then set aside.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter with sugar, vanilla and anise seed.
  6. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  7. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream to mixture and beat well.
  8. Pour into prepared pan.
  9. Bake for 1 hour or until cake is golden and springs back when touched with fork.
