Apple- Blackberry Crisp

  • Topping:
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) chilled unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • Fruit:
  • 5 lb. Golden Delicious Apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ cups fresh blackberries or frozen, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup all purpose flour
  1. For Topping:
  2. Mix flour, sugar& salt in flood processor; add butter and blend until resembles coarse crumbs (can prepare a day ahead and chill).
  3. For Fruit:
  4. Preheat oven to 350’
  5. Butter a 9”x13” baking dish
  6. Toss fruit with sugar and flour.
  7. Transfer mixture to baking dish and crumble topping over fruit.
  8. Bakes until fruit bubbles and topping is a golden brown; about 1 hour.
I don't know where this recipe came from, but it is simple and delicous. I recommend that you serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream while it is still warm.
