Apple-Cranberry-Raisin Salad
INGREDIENTS
  • For the dressing:
  • ¼ Cup sour cream
  • 2 Tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon mayonnaise
  • ¼ Teaspoon celery seed
  • ¼ Teaspoon powdered mustard
  • Dash of sweet paprika, preferably Hungarian
  • Dash of salt, or to taste
  • For the salad:
  • 1 Large red apple, cored and cut into ½-inch cubes
  • 1 Large green apple, cored and cut into ½-inch cubes
  • ¼ Cup coarsely chopped walnuts, preferably toasted
  • ¼ Cup dried cranberries
  • ¼ Cup dark raisins
DIRECTIONS
  1. To make the dressing, whisk together all of the ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. To make the salad, toss together all of the salad ingredients in a medium bowl.
  3. Add the dressing and toss again.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning.

Both the adults and kids will enjoy crispy red and green apples and sweet-tart dried cranberries & raisins in a creamy dressing made with pure maple syrup. COOKS NOTES: This dressing will keep for up to 2 days in a tightly closed container in the refrigerator. Toss the dressing with the salad ingredients up to 2 hours before serving.
