Apple Cream Pie
  • 1 1/2 C sugar
  • 1 – 9 in pie shell, unbaked
  • 4 T flour 1 T butter
  • 2 C whipping cream
  • Ground nutmeg to sprinkle
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 or 2 apples cored, peeled, and thinly sliced
  1. Combine sugar, flour cream and salt. Mix well but don’t beat air into it – just combine well. Add sliced apples (Gravenstien, rome Beauty is what I use) Stir apple into batter. Pour into the prepared crust. Dot pie with butter and sprinkle nutmeg on top. Bake at 325 for 1 hr and 10-15 minutes. After this amount of time, gently shake pie – if it is still liquid in the center, bake another 10 minutes or so. If it shakes like custard, it is done. (Try leaving the apples out for an excellent old fashioned cream pie!!!!
