Apple Pie Bread
INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups sugar/Splenda
  • 1 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 3-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Grease a 9 X 13 inch baking dish, or two loaf pans.
  3. Beat sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until light and creamy.
  4. Sift together flour, salt, soda and cinnamon, then add to first mixture.
  5. Stir in the pie filling and nuts.
  6. Bake for 60-75 minutes, depending on your choice of pan(s), until golden.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
RECIPE BACKSTORY
This recipe works well with any fruit pie filling--try it with blueberry filling, too!-- and tastes just as good the second or third day as the first.
