Apple Pie Pizza Recipe
  • Cooking Time: 30 to 40
  • 8 apples or more & slice about 1/4-1/2" thick
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon more or less depending on tastes
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • Crumble Topping:
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • Pie Crust Ingredients: or buy a premade crust
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 tablespoons ice water
  1. Heat oven to 450.
  2. Prepare pastry with last 4 ingredients & roll out onto a pizza pan.
  3. Mix flour & salt, add the cold shortening, using pastry blender, work the dough till crumbly, add the ice water to form a dough ball, roll out
  4. onto the pizza pan.
  5. Pare apples & cut into approx. 1/4-1/2 inch slices.
  6. At the edge of pan, begin layering the apple slices around the entire pan, overlapping and possibly topping layer on layer, if you want more apples than stated, some might like it that way. Mix together the cinn/nutmeg ingredients & sprinkle on top of apples.
  7. To make the crumble topping, make sure the butter is chilled or out of the freezer, combine using a pastry blender to make crumbly.
  8. Sprinkle
  9. evenly over the apple/cinnamon mixture.
  10. You can sprinkle with additional cinnamon if you like lots of spice.
  11. Bake 30-40 minutes or until edge is golden & the apples are tender.
  12. Serve with whipped cream.
