Applesauce Cake

INGREDIENTS
  • Cook enough apples to make 1 1/2 cups applesauce.
  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups applesauce
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cream butter, sugar and eggs together until fluffy. Sift dry ingredients, add dates and nuts. Add alternately with applesauce to butter and sugar mixture. Mix thoroughly and turn into a tube or 10 inch bundt cake pan that has been well buttered.
  2. Bake 325 degrees for 1 hour. Frost with cream cheese icing. YUM!
