Arlene's Favorite Chili with a Twist

  • Preparation Time: 15 min
  • 1 lb each Ground Turkey, Ground Chicken (You can use your favorite type of ground meat - Beef, Lamb,Pork etc)
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 can diced chili ready tomatoes 28oz
  • 1 can EACH of Garbanzo, Red Kidney and Black Beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 8 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 3 tablespoons of dry curry
  • Bell peppers chopped fine (to preparer’s taste)
  • Scallions chopped
  • Fresh Thyme leaves
  • Paprika, salt and pepper to taste
  • Additional herbs and spices to your taste
  • My daughter’s twist:
  • Add 1 Pkg dry Maggi Chicken Soup or Maggi Pumpkin Soup mix
  • Tablespoon Apricot Jelly or Pepper Jelly
  1. Cook turkey and chicken in some butter or olive oil until no longer pink, add the dry spices (curry, chili, paprika, black pepper etc)
  2. Add meat to slow cooker
  3. Add all remaining ingredients
  4. Mix together well cover and cook on low for 6 – 8 hours
  5. Served with a green salad, my daughter loves it with shredded cheese and a slice of garlic bread.
This is my daughter’s favorite recipe; I can make this every day AND Sunday and she is happy!
