Au Gratin Potatoes
  • Cooking Time: 30-45 minute bake time
  • Servings: 4-6
  • Preparation Time: 10-15 minutes
  • 6 medium potatoes, scrubbed well or peeled (your choice) and thinly sliced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 c. sharp cheddar (more to taste)
  • 1 1/2 c. half and half or whipping cream (your choice)
  1. Put potatoes in a large bowl and microwave on high for 10 minutes. When cool enough to handle, spread half of potatoes in a well buttered baking pan, salt and pepper potatoes, spread half of cheese over potatoes. Repeat layer. Meanwhile microwave cream on high for 2 minutes. Pour cream evenly over potatoes. Bake in an oven preheated to 375F for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
This recipe was created when I was converting our family recipes to gluten free versions. I will never make au gratin potatoes again any other way, because these are awesome.
