Auntie Sylvia's Banana Bread

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c butter, melted
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1 t baking powder
  • dash of salt
  • 2 cups flour
  1. Mash bananas and add sugar
  2. Add eggs and melted butter
  3. Mix in dry ingredients
  4. Pour into large loaf pan
  5. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees
As far as I am concerned, this banana bread is the standard. It is so popular at my mom's office that everyone is constantly giving her bananas so she will make the bread for them. It was the first bread I ever made by myself and the fact that it tasted like hers is to me, testament to what a great baker she was. It is great for breakfast, toasted with some whipped cream cheese on top
