Auntie Sylvia's Blueberry cake

  • 1/2 c butter
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c flour
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1t baking soda
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 2 c fresh or frozen (defrosted) blueberries
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1/4 c brown sugar
DIRECTIONS
  1. mix together butter, sugar, and eggs
  2. Sift all dry ingredients and add alternately in batches with sour cream
  3. Stir in 1 cup berries and vanilla
  4. pour 1/2 of the batter into a 9x12 baking dish
  5. cover with remaining 1 cup berries and sprinkle with brown sugar
  6. Spread the rest of the batter on top
  7. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes

Another one of Auntie Sylvia's recipes that is a family favorite - she always used fresh, but I have found that I can get away with using frozen ones as well
