BANANA SPLIT SALAD

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 large container Cool Whip
  • 1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
  • 6 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 3 large bananas, chopped
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix all together, chill approximately 2 hours or overnite.
  2. I sprinkled the pecans on top and drizzled with Hershey's syrup and it looked so much more like a banana split.
  3. You can make your own sugar free sweetened condensed milk and cut out a lot of sugar.

RECIPE BACKSTORY
I recall the days when traveling when we used to stop at a DQ and have a banana split for lunch instead of a meal. Then I became diabetic and had to stop that tasty habit. For those who can still eat them this salad is reminiscent of one.
