BASMATI RICE
INGREDIENTS
- Place 2 tbsp olive oil in 12-inch skillet, add 1/4 cup finely minced onion and saute till softened. Stir in 1 cup basmati rice and 1/2 tsp salt.
- Stir gently until rice is coated with oil and glistening.
- Add 2 cups BOILING water and stir briefly.
- Turn heat to the lowest setting, put a lid on the skillet and set a timer for 20 minutes.
- DO NOT lift the lid or disturb the rice for the entire time.
- After 20 minutes, remove skillet from heat, remove lid, and place a clean tea towel over the rice & replace the lid.
- Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Transfer rice to serving dish and enjoy the best rice you've ever eaten!
DIRECTIONS
- This recipe works for any kind or rice (regular white, long grain, brown, jasmine, etc), but you may have to adjust the amount of rice/water ratio as the package directs.
