BBQ Ribs
  • 4 lb Spareribs or Beef Ribs
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire
  • 1/4 cup Rum
  • 1/2 cup Sweet Chile Sauce
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, Crushed
  • 1 tsp Dry Mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Red Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Heinz 57 Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp BBQ Sauce
  1. Oven Temperature: 350°F
  2. *Cut ribs into serving size portions
  3. *Wrap in double thickness of foil and on baking sheet
  4. *Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees in single layer
  5. *Unwrap and drain drippings
  6. *Place ribs in large pan; mix together sauce ingredients and marinade at room temperature for an hour, basting often
  7. *Place ribs on medium heat BBQ grill and grill 30 minutes basting often with marinade
  8. Recipe Tips
  9. *The airplane bottles of rum are exactly 1/4 cup
  10. *Add more or less of the last 4 ingredients to taste
  11. *Be sure to baste them well on the grill so the glaze really sticks and they are not dry....this is key!
  12. *It is apparently important to make sure ribs are single layer while baking...tried doing a big batch once and it didn't work at all - half didn't cook and none of them were tender to falling off the bone, no matter how much they were basted while grilling - so the oven part is important for these
