BEANS AND BARLEY

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lb. pkg. navy beans
  • 1 c. barley
  • 1/3 lb. bacon
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • salt and pepper
DIRECTIONS
  1. Boil navy beans until tender. Boil the barley. Drain
  2. and mix both. Fry 1/3 pound bacon, remove bacon and add
  3. chopped onion to grease and saute. Mix beans, barley, onion,
  4. bacon grease and bacon together in a 2 quart casserole. Cover
  5. with water and bake uncovered for 1 to 2 hours or until liquid
  6. is absorbed at 300 degrees. Serve with Polish sausage. Good!
