BEEF-BARLEY SKILLET

INGREDIENTS
  • 3/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. chili sauce
  • 2 c. canned tomatoes, broken
  • up
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 3/4 c pearled or quick cooking
  • barley
DIRECTIONS
  1. Saute in skillet ground beef, onion, celery and green pepper. Drain off excess fat. Stir in the rest of ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to simmer; cover, and cook about 35 minutes for quick cooking barley or 1 hour for pearled
