Balsamic Vinaigrette
  • Servings: makes 3/4 cup
  • Preparation Time: 10-15 minutes
  • 1 t. garlic salt
  • 1/2 t. pepper
  • 1/2 t. basil
  • 1/2 t. oregano
  • 1/2 t. rosemary
  • 1/2 t. marjoram (optional)
  • 1/4 c. balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 c. olive oil
  • 1 t. sugar (optional)
  1. Put dry seasonings into a salad cruet, add vinegar and shake well to combine. Add olive oil, shake well to incorporate. Chill until serving time. Serve over salad, or on the side.
I used to make this salad dressing with Good Seasons Zesty Italian Dressing mix. When David was diagnosed with Celiac disease I started reading ingredients on packages and to my surprise the Zesty Italian Dressing contained wheat and soy. So now I simply add my own Italian seasonings and the Balsamic Dressing is as delicious as ever.
