Blackberry Cobbler
  • 1 quart blackberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  1. Boil 1 quart blackberries, 1 cup sugar and enough water to make the berries juice for 10 minutes.
  2. Melt 1 stick of butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish in a 350ºF oven until butter is lightly browned.
  3. Beat milk, sugar and flour hard until lumps are gone.
  4. Pour batter into butter. Bake 5 - 10 minutes in 450ºF oven.
  5. Then pour berry mixture over batter and bake 10 - 15 minutes longer or until cobbler is browned.
We can honestely say that the following recipe is the best Blackberry Cobbler recipe. We didn't find it in a cookbook written by a famous chef, but in the cookbook "What's Cooking in Kentucky", which is a collection of recipes shared by ladies of Eastern Kentucky.
