Breaded pork chops with apple rings

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 4 pork chops 2 inches thick
  • 1/2 cup fine bread or crackers crumbs
  • 3-4 unpeeled apples
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix egg, water and seasonings together
  2. Dip pork chops into mixture, then roll in crumbs and let set a few minutes
  3. Brown both sides in hot Crisco, cover and cook slowly about 30 minutes
  4. Remove from pan and keep warm
  5. Core apples and slice 1/2 inch thick
  6. Fry apple slices in same pan until tender and lightly browned
  7. Top pork chops with apple slices and serve
