Burgers Tortilla

  • 1.5 lbs. ground beef
  • half cup chopped onion
  • 1 T butter
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2/3 c evaporated milk
  • 12 oz. bottle chili sauce
  • half cup beef broth
  • 1/4 t. garlic powder
  • 1/2 t. hot pepper sauce
  • 1 pkg. (7 oz) tortilla chips
  • 1 lb. grated mild cheddar cheese
  1. Saute hamburger with onion in melted butter in large skillet. Drain off fat. Add soup, evaporated milk, chili sauce, beef broth, garlic powder, and hot pepper sauce. Mix well. Line bottom of 13x9x2 baking dish with about three-fourths of the tortilla chips. Make a layer using half of the meat mixture and a third of the cheese. Make a second layer using remaining meat mixture and another third of the cheese. Make the third layer by crumbling the remaining tortilla chips and topping with the remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes.
