Butter Cream Icing (Not Wiltons)

INGREDIENTS
  • 5 tbsp of flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/4 lb. of butter
  • 1/2 cup of shortening
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cook the flour and milk, stirring constantly until thick and smooth. Cool. Blend together remaining ingredients lightly. Add the flour/milk mixture when cool. Using an electric mixer, beat for 15 minutes on high speed.
RECIPE BACKSTORY
This is a very creamy icing that has a wonderful flavor!!! It will harden up if the cake is refrigerated.
