Buttercream Frosting

INGREDIENTS
  • 5 Tbls. flour
  • 1 Cup whole milk
  • 1/2 Cup butter
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
DIRECTIONS
  1. In small saucepan combine flour and milk; heat to boiling, stirrng constantly.
  2. Boil and stir 1 minute until smooth and thickened.
  3. Pour mixture into bowl; cover with waxed paper.
  4. Refrigerate until cool.
  5. In medium bowl, combine butter and sugar until
  6. very smooth (not grainy).
  7. Add cooled milk mixture and flavoring; mix until
  8. icing is of spreading consistency.
