Buttermilk Biscuits
  • Servings: 12-15
  • 2 cup AP flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 TBS Shortening
  • 1 cup buttermilk ( more if needed)
  1. Sift dry ingredients together cut in the shortening just until dough forms ( long kneading will make tough biscuits).
  2. Turn out on floured board and knead just until smooth roll to 1/2 inch thick and cut into biscuits put on greased baking sheet or pan.
  3. Bake at 450 for 13-15 minutes
This is my Mom's recipe. She never wrote down her recipes she just did them. She never even measure much. When she died I was sad because I thought I'd never would have her recipes again. Then one day I was looking though one of the notebooks she had been write stuff in and there were a few of her recipes there. I'm so happy I have them. it's not my mom but at least it's her recipes.
