CHICKEN BARLEY CASSEROLE
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 c. pearl barley
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 small jar mushrooms or 1 c.
  • fresh
  • 1/3 c. slivered almonds
  • 2 c. chicken broth
  • water chestnuts (if desired)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Brown barley in butter. Add chopped onion and cook
  2. until soft. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until barley is cooked. Place in greased 8 x 8-inch pan or casserole and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
