Cabbage with Polish Sausage

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 12 cups cabbage chopped
  • 1 1/4 pounds link sausage sliced
DIRECTIONS
  1. Saute chopped onion in butter in a large kettle over low heat
  2. until tender. Add flour, stirring until smooth.
  3. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  4. Gradually add water and vinegar; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  5. Stir in salt, sugar, pepper, chopped cabbage, and sliced link sausage.
  6. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes
