Candied Yams

INGREDIENTS
  • 6 medium yams, cooked (but not to mushy
  • stage), peeled, sliced/quartered
  • 1/2 cup light or dark Karo syrup
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or half-n-half
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
  1. Arrange yams in a single layer in 9x13 baking
  2. dish. Combine remaining ingredients in
  3. saucepan and bring to a boil. Stirring
  4. constantly, boil 5 minutes. Pour over yams.
  5. Bake 25-30 minutes at 325 degrees, basting
  6. occasionally, until glazed
  7. Yield: 6 servings
