Candy Bar Bars
INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 c (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 c peanut butter
- 1 c firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
- 2 c quick-cooking oats
- 1 egg
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 4 c chopped candy bars (chocolate-coated nougat, wafer cookies, chocolate and caramel-topped cookie bars or chocolate-covered peanut butter cups)
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350F. In large bowl, combine butter & peanut butter until smooth; add brown sugar and baking soda. Beat well; stir in flour and oats. Set aside 1 3/4 c of peanut butter mixture.
- Stir egg into remaining peanut butter mixture in bowl. Pat into a 15x10" baking pan. Bake 15 min. Remove from oven.
- Spread condensed milk over crust. Stir together reserved peanut butter mixture and chopped candy bar pieces. Sprinkle mixture over all.
- Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and cut. Store leftovers loosely covered at room temp.
