Candy Cookies

  • Servings: 3 Dozen Cookies
  • 1/3 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 package (8 ounces) candy-coated chocolate candies
DIRECTIONS
  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugars, butter, shortening, vanilla and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  2. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons about 2" apart onto uncreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes. (centers will be soft).
  3. Cool slightly; from from cookie sheet.
