Caramel Bars

INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking Time: 15 - 20
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups butter -- softened
  • 1 package chocolate chips -- (11 1/2 ounce)
  • 1 package caramels (unwrapped) -- (12 ounce)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk -- (14 ounce)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix oatmeal, salt, sugar, flour, soda and butter together really well.
  2. Press 1/2 of mixure onto the bottom of a slightly greased 9x13 pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  4. While it's still hot, pour the chocolate chips on top of crust. Spread to cover entire crust.
  5. Melt caramels and cond. milk in microwave. Stir frequently.
  6. Pour caramel mixture over chocolate layer evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the rest of the oatmeal mixture on top (messy!).
  8. Bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees.
  9. Let cool slightly and serve!
