Caramel Cups

INGREDIENTS
  • Dough:
  • 6 oz Philadelphia Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 2 sticks butter (softened)
  • 2 cups flour
  • Filling: 1 bag kraft caramels
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • Frosting: 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teas. Vanilla
DIRECTIONS
  1. For dough, mix together the cream cheese,butter and flour. Make little balls and press into tassie pans. Open center to make a cup. Bake 15 min. in 350 deg oven
  2. Filling: Melt Kraft Caramels in double boiler with 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Spoon
  3. into baked cups.
  4. Frosting: Combine butter & shortening then add sugar, mix well. Add milk in mix, it might curdle but just keep mixing and it will disappear. Add vanilla. Frost cups and sprinkle with crushed walnuts.
