Caramel Glazed Apple Cake

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cup chopped apples
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • Glaze
  • Melt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Add
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine
  2. 1 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
  4. 1 1/2 cup oil
  5. Beat 3-4 minutes
  6. Add 3 eggs, one at at time and beat well
  7. Sift
  8. 3 cups flour
  9. 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  10. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  11. 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  12. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  13. Add to sugar mixture and mix well
  14. Add
  15. 2 teaspoon vanilla
  16. Fold in
  17. 3 1/2 cup chopped apples
  18. 1 cup chopped nuts
  19. Pour into oiled Bundt pan
  20. Bake at 325 for 1 1/4 hours
  21. Cool a bit and invert on cake platter.
  22. Glaze
  23. Melt
  24. 3 tablespoons butter
  25. Add
  26. 3 tablespoons sugar
  27. 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  28. 3 tablespoons evaporated milk
  29. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  30. Boil for 1 minute
  31. Poke a few holes on top of cake with a fork. Spoon glaze over cake and let
  32. it dribble into holes and down sides of cake.
  33. let cool and slice.
  34. I always double the glaze recipe and put it all over the cake.
