Caramel Glazed Apple Cake
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cup oil
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 1/2 cup chopped apples
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- Glaze
- Melt
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Add
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
DIRECTIONS
- Combine
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cup oil
- Beat 3-4 minutes
- Add 3 eggs, one at at time and beat well
- Sift
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Add to sugar mixture and mix well
- Add
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- Fold in
- 3 1/2 cup chopped apples
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- Pour into oiled Bundt pan
- Bake at 325 for 1 1/4 hours
- Cool a bit and invert on cake platter.
- Glaze
- Melt
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Add
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Boil for 1 minute
- Poke a few holes on top of cake with a fork. Spoon glaze over cake and let
- it dribble into holes and down sides of cake.
- let cool and slice.
- I always double the glaze recipe and put it all over the cake.
