Caramel Pie

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp. ice water
  • 2 tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 1 baked pie crust
DIRECTIONS
  1. Burn 2 tablespoons of sugar until brown. Add boiling water. Add sugar, egg yolks, flour milk and vanilla and salt to burnt mixture. Cook until thick. Pour into crust.
  2. For topping beat eggs whites with ice water until stiff then gradually add powdered sugar. Put on pie and bake 25 minutes at 300 degrees.
