Caramel Sauce

  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/2 c. + 1 T. butter, melted
  • 3/4 c. heavy cream
DIRECTIONS
  1. In a large heavy pan begin heating pan over medium heat. Pour 1/4 c. sugar onto bottom of pan, stir constantly under sugar melts, continue adding sugar 1/4 c. at a time until all the sugar is melted and golden. Pour in melted butter and stir until butter is incorporated. Take off heat, count to three and stir in heavy cream, stirring well. Pour into one or two mason jars and cover with lids. When cool, refrigerate, but bring to room temp before using.
