Chicken Tetrazinni
INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 lb cooked spaghetti
- 1 cup of sliced fresh mushrooms
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp sherry
- 2 cups cooked chicken- chopped
- 3 tbsp flour
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- Pinch of nutmeg (sounds weird but adds a nice flavor)
- 1/3 cup shredded Italian mix cheese
DIRECTIONS
- Saute mushrooms in 2 tbsp butter and sherry.
- Mix remaining butter, flour, chicken broth, wine, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cream in saucepan on medium heat.
- Stir until it boils, add chicken and remove from heat.
- In shallow greased casserole pan, put pasta on the bottom, then the sauted mixture, then add the boiled sauce.
- On top, sprinkle cheese and bake at 400 degrees until brown and bubbly on top.
