Chocolate Cherry Cake

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • (oil and eggs as called for on cake mix package
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • canned whipped creme
  1. Prepare cake mix according to package directions, using oil or butter and eggs, and reducing the water to 1/2 cup.
  2. Spread batter into a greased and floured 13x9 baking pan.
  3. Spoon cherry pie filling evenly over the batter, take a butter knife and swirl into the batter just enough to give a marbled effect.
  4. Bake cake at 350 for 55 to 60 minutes, until cake bounces back when lightly touched.
  5. Cool and serve with a dollop of whipped creme on top.
  6. Serves 12.
