Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease one 11x7 inch pan.
  2. Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and soda. Add mayonnaise, cold water, and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes.
  3. Pour into prepared pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F, 30-35 minutes.
  5. Frost if desired.
  6. Makes 11 x7 inch cake. I pour it in 2 round pans and make a layer cake out of it. Can easily increase recipe by 1/2 and make it into a 3 layer. And the frosting possibilities are endless!
