Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie
  • 1 chocolate premade cookie crust pie shell (I prefer Oreo brand)
  • 2 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 small pkg of chocolate fudge instant pudding (you can use any chocolate flavor that you like, I just prefer chocolate fudge)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 12 oz Cool Whip (Or other brand non-dairy whip cream)
  • 1 cup peanut butter (I use creamy because not everyone in the family likes peanuts but you can use crunchy if your family likes that better)
  • Canned whip cream, optional for topping (or you can use a portion of the Cool Whip)
  • Chocolate sauce, optional for drizzling
  • Crushed peanuts, optional for topping
  1. Mix together pudding mix and 2 1/2 cups of cold milk. Mix together until well blended and smooth. Immediately pour pudding into bottom of chocolate pie shell spreading out evenly. Put in the fridge to chill while you prepare the rest.
  2. In a medium bowl beat together peanut butter, sugar and cream cheese until well blended and creamy. On low with mixer or even by hand fold in container of Cool Whip. (Note: If you want to reserve a little for top of pie instead of canned whipped cream you can do so easily w/out affecting recipe.) Once Cool Whip is folded in completely grab chocolate pudding pie shell from fridge. This should have set up a little already. Carefully spoon the peanut butter mixture over the chocolate pudding being careful not to mix the two together. Spread evenly building up the center and spreading mixture to the sides.
  3. Chill for 3 or more hours. When you are ready to serve, spray canned whip cream over top in rosettes (Or you can use reserved Cool Whip and spread over top evenly) Once the topping is on simply drizzle chocolate sauce over the top of the pie. You can also add the crushed peanuts on top for even more appeal.
This is just my take on this type of pie. It is best after being refrigerated for a few hours but can be eaten sooner if you just can't stand it *smile* Enjoy! This is a richer dessert so keep that in mind when slicing up serving portions.
