Chocolate Surprise
INGREDIENTS
- Cooking Time: 8 minutes each batch
- Servings: 2 dozen
- Preparation Time: 15-20 minutes
- 1/2 cup fat
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup nuts, chopped (opt)
- Marshmallows (large kind)
- ICING:
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups powered sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 4-6 tablespoons hot (not boiling)
DIRECTIONS
- Cream fat, sugar, eggs and vanilla together.
- Add milk.
- Sift dry ingredients together and then add to creamed mixture.
- Add nuts.
- Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet.
- Bake in pre-heated oven 375 degrees for 8 minutes.
- Take out and place 1/2 marshmallow on top of each cookie.
- Bake 4 minutes longer.
- Cool and ice.
- ICING: Mix all ingredients for the icing together and spread on cooled cookies.
