Chrystal's Grandmother's Snickerdoodles

  • 2 tbsp. makara cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix maker cinnamon and sugar together in a small bowl and reserve for topping.
  2. In a medium size mixing bowl, combined butter, margarine and sugar; cream well. Add the eggs and beat again until light and fluffy.
  3. Sift dry ingredients together; add them to the egg/butter mixture and mix throughly. Chill dough for one hour.
  4. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Form the chilled dough into 1" ball and roll them in the reserved cinnamon and sugar. Place them on greased or parchment paper lined baking sheets.
  5. Bake 8-10 mins. Cookies will puff during baking, then fall, leaving a crackly sugar top.
