Cinnamon-walnut Coffee Cake

- 1/4 cup walnut pieces
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 cup butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 2 1/4 cups plain flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- TOPPING
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour 10 cup tube pan or cake pan.
- Mix sugar, cinnamon and butter together. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and chopped walnuts.
- Mix together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add to sugar/egg mixture. Beat well. Pour into pan.
- Sprinkle with topping mix.Bake for 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- I put a white sugar glaze with chopped walnuts on top.
