Classic Hot Chocolate
  • 4 ounces plain chocolate (broken into pieces)
  • 4 cups milk
  • Sugar to taste
  • A sprinkle of nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoons double cream or whipped cream
  • A little grated chocolate (for sprinkling)
  1. Place the chocolate, nutmeg, milk and sugar (to taste) in a saucepan. Heat gently until the chocolate melts. Do not bring to a boil. Stir well and pour into mugs. Top each hot chocolate with a tablespoon of double cream or whipped cream and a sprinkle of grated chocolate.
