Congo Bars
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 stk butter, melted
  • 3 x Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cup Flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • pn Salt
  • 1/2 cup Pecans or English walnuts
  • 1 sm Pkg. butterscotch chips (6 oz)
  • OR
  • 1 sm Pkg. chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix together brown sugar and melted butter.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time.
  3. Add vanilla.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder and salt and add to mixture.
  5. Add nuts and chips.
  6. Place in a greased "9x13" pan.
  7. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees F.
  8. Do not over bake.
  9. Cut into bars while warm.
