Country Boy Pepper Steak
  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 t. seasoned salt
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 3/4 C. bread crumbs
  • 2 T. oil
  • 1/2 C. onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 large green pepper finely chopped
  • 1 small jar (2 oz.) pimento finely chopped
  • flour
  1. Saute the onion and green pepper in the oil until tender. Do not brown. Drain and cool. Add the pimento to the mixture.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the beef, sauteed vegetables, salt, egg and bread crumbs. Mix together well and shape into 6 patties.
  3. Coat the patties with flour. Saute them in a skillet for about 4 minutes on each side. Remove the patties from the pan. Leave 3 T. fat in the pan and add 2 T. flour. Stir in and cook until it turns light brown. Add 2 cups water and stir while it thickens. Return the meat patties back to the pan. Simmer for 15 minutes.
