Creole Sauce
INGREDIENTS

  • Servings: 2.5 cups

  • 1/4 chopped green pepper
  • 1 can (1 pound 13 ounces) tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 2 ribs celery, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 sprig thyme
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
  1. Saute green pepper, onion, celery and garlic in butter
  2. Add tomatoes and seasonings
  3. Simmer for 40 minutes, stirring frequently.
