Creole Style Green Beans

INGREDIENTS
  • Servings: 6 to 8
  • 6 slices bacon diced
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Worcester sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp papper
  • 1/8 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 can peeled tomatoes
  • 1 can green beans (16 oz) or fresh
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cook bacon until crisp and remove from skillet
  2. Add onion and green pepper to 3 Tbsp of bacon fat
  3. Cook until tender
  4. Blend in flour, sugar, Worcester sauce, salt, papper and mustard
  5. Add tomatoes
  6. Cook, stirring constantly until thickened
  7. Add beans
  8. Heat through
  9. Top with Bacon
  10. Fresh green beans need to be pre-cook or cooked longer.
