Crisp Lemon Cookies

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg, unbeaten
  • 1/2 t. vanilla
  • 2 t. lemon extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1/2 t. soda
  • 2 T. milk
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cream sugar and shortening; add egg and flavorings. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients and mix with creamed mixture. Stir in milk. Moisten hands with shortening and form into small balls and place on baking sheet about 2" apart. Flatten with a flat bottom glass dipped in sugar as each cookie is pressed. Bake 10 minutes at 400.
