Crisp Toffee Bars
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup BUTTER (not margarine)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 1/3 cup nuts FINELY CHOPPED
DIRECTIONS
- Cream butter, sugar and vanilla together for (ten) 10 full minutes.
- Add flour and mix well.
- STIR in chocolate and the 1 cup of nuts.
- Press mixture into an UNGREASED 15 x 10 x 1 pan.
- SPRINKLE the 1/3 cup of finely chopped nuts on the TOP surface of the batter.
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Bake 25 minutes or until browned.
- While still warm, cut into bars or squares.
