Crunchy Fried Tomatoes
INGREDIENTS
- Servings: 4
- 4 firm ripe or green medium tomatoes (about l/2 pounds)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine
- Salt and pepper
- 1 t garlic
DIRECTIONS
- Wash tomatoes; cut into slices. Dip slices into egg and then into
- Crumbs.
- Melt butter in large skillet. Add tomato slices; cook, turning once,
- Until golden brown. Season to taste.
