Drunk Beef (Sherried Beef)
INGREDIENTS
- Cooking Time: 210-240
- 3 lbs stew beef
- 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
- 3/4 cup cooking sherry
- 3 cans mushroom soup
- Cooked noodles or mashed potatoes
DIRECTIONS
- Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Put beef in large bowl. Set aside.
- Combine other ingredients in saucepan and heat through to a simmer. Pour over meat and cover bowl with foil. Put in oven and bake for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
- Serve over noodles or mashed potatoes.
- If you like more gravy add a fourth can of soup and a touch more sherry. I have even added canned mushrooms for an added touch for company.
